Talented Filipinos!

It's the season of reality show in France. I am not a fan of reality shows but I like watching this star search program of La Nouvelle Star (The New Star) and yes they can sing too. They have also created this portion Les Inoubliables (The Unforgettables) suddenly when hubby saw some videos he told me "On est vraiment nuls, on ne sait pas chanter" ! (We are really hopeless, we don't know how to sing). Telling him that some could sing but you see this segment is done on purpose. And here I am bragging about talented Filipinos who are really exceptional. It's in the blood. We love singing and it's really a part of our culture.

I even went to You Tube just to prove him that we are really good! I showed him all the videos of my favorite singer Josephine "Banig" Roberto and explaining the history of her fame! In fact, in my own time it started with Regine Velasquez singing her winning piece in your eyes in Bagong Kampeon a Singing Contest way back in 1986.

Since I am living out from home for 7 years I am still up to date and after seeing Sarah Geronimo's performances who won at the age of 14 in a reality singing contest, entitled "Star for a Night" (2003) on IBC Channel 13 I never stop checking you.tube for some updates. Now I have discovered another talented child under the name of Charice Pempengco, another star is born, now let us hear her sing ! I think I have the right to brag, Honey was impressed!

Josephine Roberto is really good. I wonder whatever happened to her. I didn't know Velasquez became famous b/c of a singing contest. Another great Pinoy singer is Arnel Pineda, who's now the lead singer of Journey b/c of youtube. :D

Charice will be in Oprah tomorrow, I'm sure she'll get even bigger as an international star.

I've been watching BGT in you tube as well and there are some Pinoy talents that have passed thru. Hopefully they make it all the way.

Happy Mother's Day Haze!

Filipinos are really great singers! Even here in Cambodia, when anyone needs a singer, people always point to Filipinos. Hotels are proud when they have Filipino bands.

Oh, and add to your list Ramielle Malubay of American Idol!

Happy Mother's Day Haze! :)

We are often referred to as the "Blacks" of Asia, and we prove that time and time again. Almost every year, American Idol includes a contestant of Filipino descent in the final stages and that's more proof than necessary. Bravo to all Filipino singers!

LEAH I think that the idea of you.tube is great! People are there to make their own success without really joining a competition :D ! Oh would love to see the Oprah show we don't have it here, sayang ! Happy Mother's day to you too, hugs!

TOE adding to that Pinoy have the stage presence and humour. They don't only sing but they make people laugh too :D. While searching on youtube I saw her and she's not just a singer but a beautiful lady! Thanks for the greetings!

PEKO-PEKO agree! Maybe you should make your own profile and sing, I know you have the talent :D !

MAJOR TOM I didn't know that , thanks for the info! I am curious to see that American Idol show. I hope that there will be Pinoy contestants in France, that will be something! How about singing in French ;)? Kudos to talented Pinoys!

I saw her in Oprah and she got a standing ovation. She has a great voice but I think she needs to tone down her facial expressions and body movements. It's bordering on being 'OA'. LOL

Definitely Maybe!

BABETTE I think she deserves the standing ovation. I see it, it's not being an OA but I think it's her style that's make's her a stand out and probably because she's young. Later on she will learn more how to control her emotions! It's like Celine Diona & Tina Turner even now, they still move a lot on stage :D !

Check out Pinoy born actor FELINO DOLLOSO who is carving a solid career as an actor in Australia.

With both feature films in a Leading role "Callabona Red" and "The Devil's 6 Commandments" in line for screenings in Film Festivals around the world, Dolloso should create interest for more work to come his way.

He has already been cast in a support role in soon to be filmed Hollywood film "Point Break 2".
